CEPA suspend logging permits for two illegal logging companies – EMTV Online

Share the News Northern Governor, Gary Juffa has applauded the swift action of the Conservation Environmental Protection Authority for suspending the logging licenses of two companies illegally operating in Collingwood Bay, Tufi. Governor Juffa stated that the companies currently operating there were doing so with illegal permits and licenses procured fraudulently given that all applications for various permits and licenses were null and void given that the vital documents appended with the applications contained the forged signatures of the Chairman of the Oro Provincial Forest Management Committee and its members, all of whom have given statements to that effect. The suspension has taken place based on reports of environmental pollution and delivering false information to CEPA by the companies involved in Wanigela. The suspension effectively puts a stop to the operations of the two companies whilst an investigation is conducted by CEPA and Oro Provincial Government.

Akufo-Addo commissions 85-bed Central Gonja district hospital

President Akufo-Addo with Yagbonwura commissioning the building President Akufo-Addo, on Sunday, 11th July 2021, commissioned the 85-bed Central Gonja District Hospital, located in Buipe, in the Savannah Region, at the start of his 2-day tour of the Region The Buipe Hospital, whose construction commenced in 2018, is one of six (6) medical installations for which Government secured an 80-million-euro facility from Raiffesen Bank of Austria. The hospital, together with five (5) others in Somanya, Sawla, Bamboi, Tolon, and Ketu North, was constructed by Vamed Engineering GmbH of Austria, with President Akufo-Addo, on 20th October 2020, commissioning the sixty (60) bed Ultra-Modern Hospital for Weta, in the Ketu North District.
